This is the Signed unique original Pen & Ink Wash by Cecil Doughty.

A lively dock scene in 1840 showing the new 'Britannia' Class steamship built by Robert Duncan & Co, John & Charles Wood and Robert Steele & Co.

The Britannia-class was the Cunard Line's initial fleet of wooden paddlers that established the first year-round scheduled Atlantic steamship service in 1840.

Cecil Doughty portrays the comings and goings of the mariners as well as the high class passengers boarding the ship.
